        AUTHENTICITY MATTERS

There are plenty of buzzwords you'll see when looking at wedding photographers: reportage, editorial, documentary, fine art, etc. If you're wondering where I fit in, it's a little bit of all of those.

Weddings are more than a generic shot list. They're a circus of emotions, hilarious, touching, sweet and silly moments, and I strive to capture them in a way that will help you to remember that feeling years on. Weddings are more than shoes arranged on windowsills or dozens of group shots with your half cousins you see once at Christmas and thank them for the scented toiletries set that's destined for the charity shop on December 27th... But I digress.

Weddings are the reassuring squeeze of a hand, the way your face scrunches when you laugh at a bad joke, the beaming smile from across the room that makes you fuzzy, or your niece idly exploring her nasal cavities during speeches. They're also sometimes unpredictable and exhausting. But you'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.

These are the slices of nostalgia that make us feel something. The bottom line being, your photos should look like YOUR photos, not a clone of everyone else's.

I always say you might not know the real weight of a photograph until weeks, months, or even years later - which is why it's even more important to document things authentically in an age of filters and warped reality on social media. It's also why connecting with you and your guests is so important. If you can be unabashedly yourselves around me, I'll be able to pick up on things others might otherwise miss. The tiny quirks between you only a friend would notice, all the in-jokes and antics of the people that mean the most to you.

WHAT GOES DOWN ON THE DAY (USUALLY)

I typically arrive an hour or two before your ceremony to start setting the scene. I love this time - it's an emotional rollercoaster and so much good stuff happens! Getting ready, checking vows, quiet time (or chaotic time) with your best friends. It's also a great way to meet your immediate family + wedding party so I know who's who.

        The
        Ceremony

During the ceremony I am a wedding ninja. I do not direct anything, or spend the entire time hovering over your shoulders. This part is pretty self explanatory really!

        +
        Group Shots

I get a bit more stuck in at cocktail hour. I'll mingle with guests, getting lots of candid photos. It's also prime time for any family photos if you're having any. These group shots are the most controlled and traditional I take, but I still love capturing these as they're timeless and important. Also, they don't need to be stuffy and formal if you're not!

        Next: Portraits

        Portraits

Before everyone gets called to dinner is usually a great time to potter off for a bit to take some portraits of the two of you. Most of these will be interaction led with a couple of camera-aware ones. I'll read the vibes from each couple so I can get the most genuine portraits that aren't forced or too posed. Even if it's just 15 minutes, it's an opportunity for you both to have a breather and soak it all in.

        Next: Reception

        Reception
        +
        Speeches

When you're having dinner, this is when I'll take a break to recharge myself! I can sit amongst your guests if you'd like in-the-action shots of food coming out and guests at their tables having fun, or I'm equally happy to be "backstage". I adore speeches as they're an emotional, hilarious and heartwarming time for everyone - the reactions are priceless and as a bonus I get to learn so much about you, too.

        Next: Party Time!

        Party
        Time!

On to the evening! I'll merrily make my way through the dance floor for epic party shots, the bands/dj's doing their thing, evening snacks and everything else. I like to be quite immersed during this time to get the most of your guest's mad dance skills, crowd surfing and inevitable drink spillages. I wrap up here, and leave you and your guests to keep the party going.

        Taking the party overseas

For destination weddings, I charge the same as my UK rate for the main wedding day, plus a travel fee to cover my travel expenses (flights, camera luggage, transfers, hotel, insurance, city tax, etc). This varies from country to country.

As these often take place over 2-3 days, we can chat about any extra coverage you'd like and go from there!

        Extras + Add Ons

        -Second Photographer
Strongly recommended for weddings of big weddings with 120+ guests. You'll get photos of both of you getting ready (rather than just one of you as is usually the case!) and two vantage points for the ceremony + reception. Plus more photos, woo!

        -Albums and professional prints
Available on request - I can help you design and order your own, or if your hands are full, leave the designing to me!

        -35mm
Love analog photography? I'll shoot some rolls - in your choice of black and white or colour

        35mm Photography

I adore analog photography and often use it in my personal life and solo work. It dawned on me this would be a beautiful add on to wedding galleries, so new for 2024 I will be offering it alongside your usual photographs! Take your pick from black and white or colour, and how many rolls of each you like.

£50 per roll (includes cost of film, professional developing, high res scans)

        Engagement/Couple's Shoots

What makes them great? They're an opportunity to hang out, grab a drink and get to know each other. You'll get used to being in front of the camera if you're feeling shy, and I get to show you there's absolutely NO reason to be! I'll learn about your relationship, your quirks, best angles, your lives, and will apply that knowledge when I'm shooting your wedding.

You'll receive a beautiful gallery of you actually looking like yourselves, that you can use for invites, save the dates, or just looking darn lovely in a frame in your home.

I will recommend the time and place, all you need to do is bring your best selves (pets welcome too!)

These typically last up to two hours and are available in London, Brighton and in/around East Sussex. Cost: £300

How do we secure our date?
        A.
Yes! I'm still learning to drive, but I've been fortunate to travel about quite a bit (France, Italy, Marrakesh, Ibiza... Yorkshire). UK travel is included if I can get there and back in a day. If you're a bit further away and an overnight stay is needed, I'll quote you a cost for travel expenses.
